Packaging Group Team Lead - Seedway, LLC - Hall, NY

SALARY RANGE

 

$19.00 – 23.00 per hour

 

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Responsible for supervising all functions in packaging, tagging, treating and receiving finished product into inventory.

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

 

Supervises, leads, develops, and works with production assistants.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Ensures seed quality is being maintained by following quality standards.

Promotes Seedway quality standards to production assistants and technicians.

Preserves value of seed to minimize loss.

Promotes team collaboration and creates a unified workplace culture.

Assists in the packaging of finished seed and mixing seed treatment.

Ensures accurate rates of seed treatments are applied.

Assists in tagging.

Assists in receiving and warehousing.

Assists in shipping of products.

Maintains a clean and orderly warehouse and workspace.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of agricultural industry related work experience to demonstrate leadership ability, mechanics and project management skills.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Frequently exposed to working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures           

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Is required to have or work towards getting NYS seed treaters license within one year.

Frequently required to lift 51-70 lbs. as needed.

Will be required to work hours other than those considered “normal” to meet seasonal demands. Demand seasons are from mid- February to mid-May, then again from early July to mid-October.

Ability to work extended hours.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
