Summer Assistant Intern - Seedway, LLC - Hall, NY

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of location management, assist with general agronomy functions to learn the foundation of the system and industry.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations

 

Work at Seedway locations with production, inventory management, customer service, credit, sales and marketing

 

Visit customers/dealers and growers building professional relationships

 

Coordinate communication with multi-site contacts, schedule field activities and carry out projects

 

Assist in plot planting

 

Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment for field scouting

 

Assist with ensuring field signs are displayed on customers’ fields to promote select seed products.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree 

 

Be in good academic standing

 

Demonstrates flexibility, positive attitude, work ethic, planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

 

Demonstrates ability to work independently, in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.

 

Ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record 

 

Ability to travel independently and overnight as needed

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development
