Location Manager - Seedway - Shoreham, VT
Seedway is headquartered in Hall, New York with branches in Pennsylvania, Florida, Vermont, Maine, and New York. Seedway has about 220 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 15,000 customers. The cooperative does business in farm, vegetable, and turf seed. Seedway is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Provides profitable and quality service to Seedway Partners, Customers, and Seedway Sales and Field Staff.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Supervises, leads, and develops the lacation Office, Warehouse and Driver Personnel
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Implements plans and strategies as directed
Leads the effort to provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
Supports TFM’s in sales, marketing, and service activities
Provides appropriate care and maintenance of land, vehicles and equipment using accredited and insured providers for service
Monitors and maintains mileage card and vehicle log records submitted
Oversees credit carad statements and general operation expenses
Optimizes value of operating expenses
Reports weekly to Operations Manager
Works with Operations Manager to budget for needed capital expenses
Works with IT Dept. with problems in operation or machine performance
Manages inventory and organizes shipping/delivery schedules with appropriate personnel.
Collaborates and coordinates with other locations
Works with HR Dept. with any openings, salary changes, discipline or terminations with Suprvisor approval
Supervises and mentors employees to maintain productivity, quality workmanship and customer service
Manages staff PTO in accordance with company policies to insure functioning staff at all times
Fosters an attitude of high performance, personal growth, trust and respect between employees
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires an AAS degree or the equivalent of related work experience.CCA accreditation is preferred.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs
Team leadership and management experience preferred
Must obtain and maintain a Vermont Pesticide Dealers License
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Must have or the have the ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL B).
Continuously exposed or required to:
-Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
-Noisy conditions
-Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
-May be required to work at varying heights and in confined spaces
-Lift 50-75 lbs.
-Required to push heavy objects
Ability to work extended hours as needed.
Ability to travel independently and overnight.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position
