SALARY RANGE: $16 - $18 / hour
REPORTS TO: Agronomy Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt
As an Agronomy Operations Student Internship, you will work closely with crop specialists and other agricultural professionals to support the daily crop production operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting with fieldwork, conducting soil sampling, crop scouting, and applying best practices in plant nutrition and pest management.
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations, helping you gain insight into agricultural practices and the agribusiness sector. You will also be able to collaborate on research, test new technologies, and contribute to maintaining agricultural equipment.
- Assist with field scouting and crop monitoring to identify pest, weed, and disease pressures.
- Collect and analyze soil and tissue samples for nutrient levels.
- Support the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the agronomy team to implement precision agriculture techniques.
- Participate in research projects, data collection, and interpretation of agronomic trials.
- Maintain and operate agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Communicate observations and recommendations to customers and crop specialists.
- Keep accurate records of field activities and results.

REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of crop systems, soil health, and pest management.

Other Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- The role may require occasional travel to other company locations or industry events, with the ability to travel independently and stay overnight as needed.
- Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
- Ability and willingness to participate in required training, including education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training related to the position’s requirements.
