PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT 

The Grain Internship provides students with hands-on experience in the agricultural grain industry. Interns will gain insight into grain operations, logistics, marketing, and customer service. Working closely with experienced professionals, interns will assist with daily activities, learn industry best practices, and develop skills essential for a future career in agriculture. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Assist with the receiving, storage, and shipment of grain. 

  • Monitor and ensure grain quality, including sampling, weighing, and grading. 

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently under supervision. 

  • Interact with customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve inquiries. 

  • Provide support for grain contracting and settlement processes. 

  • Support grain inventory management and tracking. 

  • Assist in coordinating transportation schedules for inbound and outbound grain. 

  • Update and maintain records related to grain transactions. 

  • Prepare reports and documentation as needed for operations and compliance. 

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during operations. 

  • Support compliance efforts with company policies and regulatory requirements. 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Assists department staff as needed. 

  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. 

  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

Educations and Experience 

 

Must be pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college, or university and be in good academic standing at the time the internship begins.
