PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under general supervision of the HR & Corporate Services Manager, this position is responsible for the effective and efficient maintenance and operation of the GROWMARK office building. Performs various tasks to maintain the building’s systems, equipment, safety, and appearance to ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional work environment for employees and visitors. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Conducts routine inspections of the building, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other equipment to identify maintence or repair needs. 

 

Performs preventative maintenance tasks such as changing filters, lubricating equipment, inspecting fire safety system, and maintaining records of maintenance activities. 

 

Performs basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, and repairing broken fixtures or furniture. 

 

Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, such as switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures. 

 

Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

 

Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, prioritizing urgent repairs to minimize disruptions to daily operations. 

 

Coordinate with external contractors or service providers for specialized repairs or maintanance tasks beyond the scope of in-house capabilities. 

 

Maintain a safe and secure environment by inpsecting and testing safety equipment such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and sprinkler systems. Coordinates annual testing requirements with vendors.

 

Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies. Schedules regular employee drills to ensure all employees are aware of safety protocols.

 

Conduct regular inspections to identify potenial hazards, address safety concerns, and report any violations or issues. 

 

Perform general janitorial duties as needed.

 

Monitor and maintain building systems, such as elevators and access control systems. 

 

Maintain acurate records of maintenance schedules.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent and proven experience in building maintenance, repair work, or related fields. 

 

Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance systems.  HVAC certification preferred. 

 

Basic electrical skills. 

 

Ability to install and maintain plumbing systems. 

 

Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

 

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. 

 

Ability to lift at least 50lbs.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position. 

 

Ability to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
