PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Supporting the initiative of taking Technical Services to the next level in a dynamic, rapidly changing industry with a growing broad customer base. Assisting to ensure and protect brand equity in the marketplace through timely & accurate performance data development; further enhancing the customer experience through being more engrained with the customer utilizing technical education activities and support.

 

Responsible for the development of enhanced customer experience/support with assigned brands and geographical customers through technical proficiency with products, data illustration, training development, and applications; supported through data analysis and physical Quality Assurance verification.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Responsible for the collection and retention of raw technical data working with the supplier/s to determine the capability of the material as it applies to the product development/performance expectations.

 

Develops qualification analytical procedures for verification purposes of our proprietary product claims, literature, and development.

 

Coordinates with Quality Control on the implementation of qualification procedures to acquire the necessary data, analyzing and correlating the acquired data for the purpose of developing technical materials (PDS/LSS) supporting the Members in the distribution of our branded lubricant products.

 

Provides Technical training support through presentation development, delivery, and oversight review to ensure the message intended is delivered.

 

Coordinates with Member Services (Field Staff), Technical Director, and Business Development in the development of targeted training programs and materials using the appropriate technology to deliver a value-add experience to the membership.

 

Through input of Member Services (Field Staff) and direct communication with geographical customers, maintains a formal database on training presentations, programs, and key competitors. Communicating competitive information back to Member Services to support the growth of our membership.

 

Responsible for the timely resolution of customer inquiries and discrepancies in accordance with established procedures. Researches and resolves customer inquiries on routine product capabilities, service information and competitive product claims.

 

Participates in Business Development meetings providing input and assisting in setup of technical materials defined through the meeting.

 

Provides routine product recommendations and cross reference to Member Services and the membership.

 

Develops to the level of Lubricant SME.

 

Assists corporate events staff with lubricant participation in corporate events.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Sciences, or Communications, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 (five) years or more of Technical Service-related work experience.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed and work hours beyond those usually considered “normal”.

 

Demonstrated professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.

 

Demonstrated planning, organization, and decision-making skills.

 

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

 

Proven computer skills and the ability to use these skills to enhance business processes and proficiency in current business software, graphics programs and web-based applications.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
