PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT 

Assesses, develops, and facilitates training programs, materials and activities for member cooperatives and retail divisions to develop sales, marketing and support employees within the assigned region/area. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

Assesses needs, develops programs, and leads initiatives to train and develop senior sales and marketing, and sales support staff of Retail and Member Cooperatives.  Consults with the management teams to define training requirements and determine timelines for implementation.  Work with Training Manager to determine best course of action for the area. 

 

Determines present and future training/development needs for member cooperative employees. Conducts an annual needs analysis with each member cooperative/retail management team in their designated region(s) to identify training/development needs and plan for short and long term program requirements. 

 

Facilitates all Sales training in designated area. 

 

Work with Training Manager and Sales Marketing Managers to design, develop and/or deliver advanced sales manager training program and experienced sales content.   

 

Work with Manager - Training and Development on Succession Planning process for Member or Retail operations. 

 

Administers and coordinates the sales certification and testing programs for GROWMARK, Member Cooperatives, and Retail Divisions. 

 

Supports the development, implementation, and assessment of learning technology training materials.  Uses current technologies in performing job functions. 

 

Coordinates followup and evaluations with employees to assure new skills and techniques have successfully been implemented on the job.  Works directly with member and retail division HR managers to assess, deliver and ensure implementation of knowledge and skills. 

 

Work with Manager Supervisor Development to facilitates/co-facilitate Aspiring Leaders and Supervisor Series in local area 

 

Works with Retail and Member Cooperatives to create a Needs Assessment for departments, divisions and operations.    

 

Work with SME as a co-facilitator in regards to business acumen training. 

 

Primary responsibility for the development of initiatives and programs for member cooperative and retail division’s new and experienced sales and marketing staff.  

 

Works with member cooperative management teams to determine present and future T & D needs of local sales personnel. Conducts an annual needs analysis with each management team in assigned territory. 

 

Provides educational leadership to Retail and Member Cooperatives in assigned territory.   

 

Administers sales certification testing for Agronomy, Energy and Grain Origination.  

 

Assists in the development, implementation, and assessment of Learning Technology training materials.  Uses current technologies in performing job functions. 

 

Coordinates member cooperative followup for all employees to assure implementation of new skills and techniques on the job. 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

Provides input for the Training and Development budget and administers area within budget parameters. 

 

Advises, develops and administers programs requested by GROWMARK product divisions and member managements that are supported by Training and Development. 

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. 

 

Performs all other duties as assigned. 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business, or business-related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of System sales experience or other sales related experience (B2B, insurance, real estate, financial services). 

 

Normally requires a certificate / certification in appropriate ASTD, SHRM, or other nationally recognized coursework to demonstrate advanced training or human resource knowledge. 

 

Requires an understanding and proven experience in planning, developing, presenting, assessing training activities and programs, instructional design, needs analysis, content development, technological proficiency, cultural awareness, negotiation, financial statements, innovation, marketing, and consulting. 

 

Proven understanding and experience in adult learning program development along with ability to utilize techniques in assessing adult learning program effectiveness. 

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. 

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as well as valid Passport. 

 

Must have the ability to travel independently, frequently, and overnight as necessary, with ability to work extended hours as needed.  

 

Occasionally required to work at varying heights and lift and move 21-50 lbs. 

 

Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK members and retail divisions.  

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
