Compliance Ops Manager - GTTC - GROWMARK, Inc. - Bloomington, IL

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Manages field shop maintenance operations for transportation equipment, the equipment refurb program, and external maintenance.  Ensures that maintenance procedures and requirements are adhered to for fleet equipment by internal and external maintenance facilities or GROWMARK maintenance facilities. Trains, directs and coordinates shop foremen activities and responsibilities at all maintenance facilities.

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP 

 

Supervises, leads and develops all maintenance Shop Foremen, Maintenance Analyst and Transportation Administrative Assistant. Provides leadership to technicians at the GROWMARK maintenance facilities.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

 

Manages costs at each shop location as it pertains to labor, purchases and expenditures with all outside vendors. Works with area coordinators on mechanical condition and replacement of trailers.  

 

Ensures all equipment is ready for seasonal business.

 

Establishes productivity goals for each of the shop locations and ensures they are being measured on a regular basis. Manages a quality control program that enforces accountability to all employees through communication, procedures, training and processes. 

 

Establishes maintenance and rebuilding procedures at the assigned maintenance facility so that all mechanics’ jobs are scheduled, job costs are controlled, and jobs are completed on time.

Stays current with changes in the transportation industry regarding DOT, and OSHA requirements.

 

Ensures that the assigned maintenance facilities meet   or exceed all environmental and regulatory requirements of the GROWMARK System.

 

Ensures the efficient operations of the assigned maintenance facilities and completion of all administrative paperwork. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for EHS, OSHA, and D.O.T. policies   Plans regular visits to GROWMARK shop locations to ensure proper maintenance is being provided on all equipment. 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Coordinates with dispatch on area maintenance and trailer placement. Performs DOT inspections, tests, and equipment maintenance as required.  

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.  
 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires knowledge of maintenance and truck operations plus 3 or more years tank truck mechanical experience and training in related areas of work to demonstrate transportation experience and knowledge.  Certified and physically able to complete a federal annual inspection, inspections as required by HM 183, and equipment maintenance along with a proven knowledge of welding procedures and practices.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Understanding and experience with transportation-related areas including tank truck maintenance and repair, order fulfillment, logistics management, inventory management, negotiation, policies and procedures, and compliance along with sales, marketing, and budgeting.

 

Proven leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others.
 
Proven computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes and transportation operations.  Must maintain a commercial driver’s license. 

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Ability to travel independently and overnight as necessary.  

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
