PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for managing the processing and billing of and payment for Energy products in accordance with corporate guidelines for proper accounting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Manages efficient and effective analysis, design, and implementation of business and data management processes comprising, and impacting, key Business Process department functions.

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Supervises, leads, and develops the Energy Processing and Control Supervisors and the Energy Process & Data Supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manages order placement, customer billing, supplier invoice processing, resolution of disputed invoices, and customer and supplier contract administration.

 

Manages ongoing business process design and improvement efforts. Identifies and analyzes opportunities to optimize business performance by aligning and integrating information technology related processes.

 

Manages maintenance of fuel and propane processing database, and responds to complex billing and customer requests.

 

Maintains operating knowledge of the SAP ERP system used for ordering, billing, supplier payments, motor fuel taxes, and all related control processes.

 

Collaborates with appropriate personnel in/at Energy, Logistics, IT, Controllers, carriers, suppliers, customers, and third-party information providers to improve processes and technology used to collect shipment information used for invoicing.

 

Manages information retrieval and control processes from suppliers, customers, carriers, and third-party information providers.

 

Manages the review and reconciliation of the Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) system and electronic bill of lading system to ensure that all fuel, and related tax, transactions are properly accounted for and controlled.

Maintains knowledge of federal and state motor fuel tax regulations to ensure proper billing and compliance with various regulations.

Advises product division in setting up marketing programs, pricing policies, contracting programs, and control procedures to ensure compliance and internal control within corporate guidelines for area of responsibility.

Maintains knowledge of specialized query and data analytics software.  Also responsible for developing skill levels and expanding use of the query software by others within area of responsibility.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Educates customers in how to utilize the services available from Energy business process.

Follows GROWMARK’s Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Responsible for encouraging, supporting, and promoting innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a college degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent, and at least 8-10 years of related experience to demonstrate the ability to provide energy processing and control leadership to the GROWMARK System.

Advanced degree or certification desirable.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Understanding and experience with accounting-related areas including processing, ordering, billing, and reconciliation systems, accounting information systems, inventory control, internal controls, motor fuel tax regulations, policies and procedures, and compliance along with energy accounting strategic planning.

 

Proven supervisory and leadership skills including staffing, coaching, performance evaluation, etc. and the ability to achieve results through others.

 

Proven computer skills in use and supervision of accounting software, software query tools, and relational database software along with the ability to use technology to enhance business processes.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport, and have the ability to travel independently and overnight as necessary.

 

May be required to work hours beyond what is considered normal business hours.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
