Initiates, conducts, and completes assigned research projects for MID-CO Commodities.  Research work focuses on gathering, analyzing, and interpreting marketplace data and trends.  Provides on-going grain market research to support MID-CO, GROWMARK, and affiliated companies.  Uses data to improve decision making and recommendations for MID-CO brokerage team.  


Responsible for the development of project proposals, including the selection of appropriate research procedures. Develops appropriate research instruments to gather primary research data. 


Develops, conducts, and communicates the results of market research studies related to all aspects of the company's business. 


Seeks out meaningful information for clients that will result in positively influencing merchandising strategies.


Works closely with MID-CO brokerage team in conducting market research projects.


Provides daily written commentaries on futures markets and related subjects to MID-CO customers.


Provides analysis and written commentaries on weekly demand reports.  


Provides analysis and written commentaries on monthly supply/demand and production reports.


Compiles fundamental and technical analysis on a regular basis to MID-CO brokers and customers.


Conducts research outlooks and presentations as needed.   


Prepares visual aids in conjunction with marketing research and analysis.  


Assists with research, writing, and recommendations for MID-CO branch offices


Maintains frequent and accurate information in all related MID-CO databases.





Researches and keeps current on available market research techniques and procedures and recommends those that would best serve the GROWMARK System.


Works with Manger, Commercial Brokerage in coordinating information for outside sources and agencies.  


Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.


Performs all other duties as assigned.





Normally requires a degree in business, marketing, economics, agricultural economics, or the equivalent thereof, and 7 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate the ability to provide market research, marketing information, and database management to the GROWMARK System. 


Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.


Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. 


Ability to travel independently and overnight.


Passport (or ability to obtain) required.


Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
