PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Serves as the secondary customer service representative for assigned customers and member cooperatives to sell and service Crop Protection Division products and ensure profitability.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
Serves as the secondary Crop Protection customer service representative.  Responsible for Customer order placement, order fulfillment, order control systems, sales programs, and invoice protests.  Also assists in tracking into stock orders for GROWMARK warehouses and proactively monitors warehouse inventories to communicate product availability to our customers.

 

Assists with customer set up and maintenance activities. Coordinates with Credit Department and Accounting to insure proper credit limits are established and maintained.

 

Facilitates and provides leadership, training, and assistance to Member Cooperatives and Crop Protection Staff in troubleshooting and day to day operational issues on e-supply.

 

Monitors and initiates follow-up with customers on order fulfillment, order control systems, sales programs, contracts, excess inventory, billing exceptions, invoice protests, and credit challenges.

 

Maintains a current library of all GROWMARK Crop Protection price pages and customer programs. Maintains a calendar of all stocking and incentive dates for GROWMARK retail customers.  

 

Communicates current information to customers about product allocations and managed supply products.

 

Assists GROWMARK Supply Managers in providing forecasts to vendors on upcoming Crop Protection needs.

 

Maintains a thorough working knowledge of SAP, Business Objects, SharePoint and all Crop Protection supported programs.  Responsible for monitoring these programs and providing technical support when necessary. 

 

Serves as the secondary backup for Crop Protection Specialty Product Associate and Crop Protection Marketing Specialist.

 

Responsible for utilizing and maintaining business objects reports for the Crop Protection Marketing and Procurement & Operations departments.

 

Collaborates with the Crop Protection team and Logistics Department to ensure that delivery and order service programs are efficient and economical for GROWMARK as well as member cooperatives.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Prepares sales, purchase, inventory and other reports as requested.

 

Coordinates with Crop Protection staff to ensure 24-hour assistance is available to customers during the busy season including evening and weekend coverage on a revolving basis.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a college degree in agronomy, ag economics, ag business, marketing, or other business-related discipline, or the equivalent thereof.  Practical work experience in an industry with similar job functions is considered valuable as well.

 

Must have a basic understanding of the Crop Protection business.  Must also possess basic understanding of crop related areas such as marketing, products, and negotiation.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. 


Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as necessary.

 

Must have the ability to acquire and maintain a United States Passport.


Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
