PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Safely operate various types of heavy duty material handling equipment in order to perform tasks associated with the unloading or loading of barges, railcars and trucks, assist in the maintenance of the facility, and be capable of providing administrative support in order to meet customer needs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Safely operate various types of equipment such as a skid steer loader, conveying equipment and other machinery similar in nature.

 

Assist in the transfer of product from inbound vehicles to storage and then to outbound vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Inspect, perform and document general preventative maintenance activities, repairs and cleaning of equipment and the facility grounds to portray a positive company image and keep the facility assets in an acceptable operating condition.

 

Follow all company safety and operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 

 

Able to perform all administrative activities associated with the facility in regard to the processing of receipt, storage and shipment of product and other assigned administrative tasks.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Ensure customers are served professionally by providing timely, responsive, and adaptable customer service.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Demonstrate the ability to take on additional responsibilities as time with the company expands.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof.

 

Prefer general knowledge and understanding of facility operations and industrial equipment operation.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Frequently exposed to the following conditions:  Extreme weather (hot, cold, wet, etc.), noisy conditions, dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safely measures.

 

May be required to work at varying heights and confined spaces.

 

Must be able to lift 71-100 lbs.

           

Will be required to work extended hours.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
