PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

This position is responsible for providing engineering project management services for customer facilities including contract administration, jobsite controls, environmental and regulatory compliance, safety, budgeting, and efficient resource utilization.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Manages supervision of engineering construction projects by proactive planning, communicating, administering contracts and jobsite controls.  Manages safety, environmental, and other applicable regulatory compliance.

 

Pro-actively communicates within the Engineering Department to ensure and contribute to best practices in project design, project management, and resource utilization. 

 

Administers accounting controls on projects as directed by department and corporate accounting standards.  Reviews and reports on job cost and schedule performance for projects. 

 

Oversees, controls, and performs engineering project management activities as assigned and assures work is performed in accordance with standards of reasonable professional skill and diligence.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Develops and maintains professional working relationships with engineering consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.

 

Participates in industry and professional organizations.  Proactively shares engineering project management knowledge and training with Engineering Department staff.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a college degree in construction project management, engineering, or equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of relevant work experience to demonstrate the ability to provide engineering project management leadership to the GROWMARK System.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Have proven computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes.

 

Must have and maintain a valid passport, driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.  Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight and be able to work extended hours when necessary.

 

Travel for this position is project dependent with typical annual travel of 40% - 50%.

 

Occasionally required to traverse construction and facility sites, climb building and other structure heights, and ability to lift and carry 60 pounds as needed to inspect and investigate projects.  Will occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions and moderately difficult labor.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
