PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under general supervision, handles, and maintains the flow of materials and products through the distribution center in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with company standards and procedures. This role also provides back up leadership and assistance to the bulk chemical tank farm and portable filling operations and personnel.

 

Typical hours for this position are 9:00AM-5:30PM, Monday-Friday.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Provides daily assistance to the bulk chemical tank farm and portable filling operations and personnel.

 

Responsible for the receiving, shipping, warehousing, and physical control of all chemicals associated with the chemical tank farm.

 

Assists with the operational process of filling portable tanks to: 

A). Manage fill process assuring correct fill quantities are achieved. 

B). Manage sequencing process to avoid contamination and assure compliance with supplier chemistry repack. 

C). Coordinate with Crop Protection Supply Manager to maintain proper inventory of chemistries, proper inventory of available empty portable tanks, labels, seals, and necessary supplies.

 

Responsible for the accurate receipt, placement, and storage of products within the distribution center in accordance with established company policies and procedures.

 

Responsible for the accurate timely picking, packing, and shipping of merchandise in accordance with established company policies and procedures.

 

Transport and restock products in their assigned locations maintaining first in/first out inventory procedures.  Ensure all operating procedures are followed to ensure efficient and effective space utilization and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

 

Transports merchandise using a forklift / high lift to designated locations within the distribution center, which may include assisting with other production processes, loading, unloading, and order picking.

 

Rotates product and materials throughout the rack storage area as sales data or seasons dictate.

 

Complete all necessary paperwork and updates supervisor to ensure accuracy. 

 

Participates in periodic product inventories and annual inventories.

 

Provides leadership and direction to Material Handler I for all SAP and inventory needs and continuous training.

 

Ability to adapt to Lean Six Sigma and change management practices for optimal efficiency and customer service.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Responsible for the general cleanliness of the warehouse and maintains all equipment in accordance with company standards.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a high school degree or the equivalent thereof.  Prefer 3-5 years of warehouse and inventory experience.

 

Must qualify to operate warehouse equipment necessary to perform material

handling duties.

 

Must have the ability to learn and perform the duties necessary to provide the maximum service level required for this position.

 

May occasionally be exposed to or required to work in conditions that may include dust, fumes, chemicals with appropriate safety measures.

 

Must be mobile and able to lift 51-70 lbs for an extended period of time.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.

 

Must qualify to operate warehouse equipment necessary to perform material handling duties.

 

Must have a high degree of product knowledge and storage methods.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
