PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Assists in cash management and related reporting for GROWMARK and subsidiaries by handling daily receipts and disbursements, determining the daily cash position for a portion of bank accounts, maintaining records of daily treasury activities, and managing bank communications and systems. This role is responsible for setting up all Retail ACHs, preparing prior day reporting, and handling bank requests from all subsidiaries and retail locations.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Operates bank software and internet applications - including but not limited to those for check printing, processing and scanning - used in receipts, disbursements and daily cash management activities; communicates with banks to investigate and resolve questions/problems related to cash activities.

 

Prepares and distributes prior day cash activity reports.

 

Sets up and maintains all Retail ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions.

 

Handles and responds to bank-related requests from all subsidiaries and retail locations.

 

Supports Midco processing activities as assigned.

 

Maintains various computer worksheets to project, record, and monitor cash activity for GROWMARK and subsidiaries.

 

Assists with monthly cash management reports and setting up new accounts for new business ventures and related reporting.

 

Provides support for Canadian funding activities as needed, including executing foreign exchange trades to optimize GROWMARK’s global cash position.

 

Identifies process bottlenecks, inconsistencies, and exceptions in cash operations and recommends improvements (automation opportunities, workflow redesign, better controls).

 

Performs credit analysis for new customer accounts and conducts annual reviews of accounts.

 

Creates comparative spreadsheets for evaluation and formulates recommendations for the Credit Manager’s approval.

 

Uses quantitative and qualitative factors in credit analyses to calculate relevant metrics like efficiency,

performance, and leverage costs.

 

Maintains professional lines of communication within the department to ensure all established work standards are met.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists the Cash Analyst and Treasury Specialist positions.

 

Follows the GROWMARK’s Environmental Health and Safety & OSHA policies and procedures.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a college degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent, and related experience to demonstrate the ability to provide cash management leadership to the GROWMARK System.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.

 

Understanding and experience with accounting/finance-related areas including cash management, patronage and stock redemption, loan securities and collateral, reconciliations, credit management and compliance reporting.

 

Prefer previous accounting, banking, and/or finance-related experience.

 

Proven professional communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and customer service skills.

 

Demonstrated planning, organization, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. 

 

Proven computer skills including spreadsheets and computer calculators.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
