PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Supervisor, Grain Risk Operations & Analytics leads the technology, data, and operational infrastructure supporting MID-CO’s grain risk and brokerage activities. This role is responsible for optimizing business processes, leveraging technology solutions, and developing actionable data insights that drive operational efficiency, risk management, and superior customer experience.
This position supervises Broker Assistants while serving as the division’s primary resource for business systems, analytics, and process improvement. The role bridges grain merchandising strategy, risk controls, and technology enablement to support profitable growth and disciplined risk management.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Supervises, leads, and develops all Broker Assistants supporting MID-CO.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lead and continuously improve MID-CO’s order flow, trade processing, reconciliations, and back-office operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
Supervise and develop Broker Assistants, establishing performance expectations, cross-training, and consistent operational execution.
Oversee daily trading activity including reconciliations, margin exposure, long customer positions, open orders, and key trading deadlines to support disciplined risk management.
Administer and enhance operational technology platforms — including order entry systems, reporting tools, portals, website resources, automated hedging, and market information systems — serving as the primary liaison between business operations, IT, and Compliance.
Develop and maintain operational reporting and analytics, transforming trading and market data into dashboards, KPIs, and actionable insights for leadership and business partners.
Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements and emerging technologies (e.g., automation, AI, and cloud-based solutions) to improve workflow efficiency, data accessibility, and customer experience.
Serve as the primary technical and operational resource for internal teams and business partners, leading user training, adoption, and change management initiatives.
Coordinate business continuity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and operational response procedures in partnership with Compliance.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum three years of experience in agricultural marketing, grain risk management, brokerage operations, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in business process improvement and operational controls.
Experience with data analytics, reporting tools (e.g., Tableau), and business intelligence platforms preferred.
Licensed as an AP with the NFA or able to pass the Series 3 commodities exam within 1 year of assuming position.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Proven professional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, customers, and other business partners.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
