PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Responsible for management of the marketing, market analysis, business development and technical support of fuel, fuel additives, DEF, and energy equipment.  Accountable for the development and implementation of training, support and marketing programs for products assigned.

 

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP

 

Supervises the Fuel Additives Account Managers and Services team.  Provides leadership to the Energy Sales and Market Development teams.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Achieve budgeted growth and profitability.

Develops and articulates marketing plans for assigned products to achieve the Energy Division sales and profit objectives.

Provide direction and leadership for the marketing and growth of branded products and programs such as Dieselex Gold, Cetane Express, and other proprietary brands.

Ensures member training programs, decision aid tools and recommendations focus on best practices and coordinates focused training and technical support for the System.

Assists sales teams with the implementation of business development strategies to maximize the growth of assigned products.

Oversees additive equipment programs including approval of capital expenditures as well as monitoring, reporting on financial performance of those investments in accordance with Energy Division objectives.

Develops and administers the implementation of marketing and sales incentive programs for assigned products and communicates these programs to Energy Division Marketing staff, Region staff, and member cooperatives.

Provides leadership to the development and selection of appropriate product lines, approves product specifications, establishes service and quality standards, directs quality control, monitors performance, and recommends product additions and deletions.

Leads and conducts technical and sales training for assigned products.

Provides leadership for the pricing, inventory management and distribution for assigned products.

Provides leadership and supervision of the management of technology for assigned product areas including: additive injectors and tank monitors.

Develops and implements growth strategies in all geographies to increase sales of refined and renewable fuels and DEF for the GROWMARK system.

Responsible to maintain industry contacts to keep current on the latest trends, developments, and marketing methods, including the National Biodiesel Board, Renewable Fuels Association, National and State corn and soybean associations and State Petroleum Marketer Associations.

Manages the development of advertising with the Energy Marketing Strategist to achieve marketing and merchandising program objectives.

Coordinates communication programs and materials with the Energy division sales teams.

Develop annual sales and expense budgets for assigned products.

Responsible for encouraging, supporting, and promoting innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other business related discipline and at least 6 years of sales/marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Understanding and experience with energy-related products including refined and renewable fuels,  sales/marketing, market analysis, pricing strategies, supply forecasts, risk management, competitive adeptness, and product proficiency along with market planning, program execution, budgeting, and communications.

 

Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
