PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for the development, facilitation, and evaluation of professional development programs for GROWMARK and System employees and leaders. Consults with senior leaders to identify development needs, plan training strategies, and lead training & development activities.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Conducts leadership development training across all areas of the System.

Liaison to division leaders and executives to conduct needs assessments and advise on solutions that drive results in support of company goals. Guides leaders through talent identification, succession, and development planning. Determines instructional methods to deliver training needs to teams, individuals, or groups.

Strengthens employee preparedness for future trends and equips all leadership and employees with the skills/competencies that align to the Service Excellence Standards and the GROWMARK Leadership Competency model. 

Manages the development, implementation, and assessment of training materials and technology for program assignments. Leads program coordination, material development, communications, and budget.

Provides coaching to managers/supervisors to assist leaders in interpreting data collected from 180 and 360 feedback instruments and creates action plans with supervisors/leaders.

Coordinates with the Field Training Team to support leadership training at Member Companies and Retail facilities and sales training for the System. Collaborative partner to fellow Training & Development and Field Training staff to define training requirements, determine timelines for implementation, facilitate, and evaluate development sessions. 

Analyzes data to identify trends and offers data-driven development solutions. Develops reports to monitor training activities and results. Regularly communicates with senior leaders, general managers, and executives to provide progress updates and recommendations. Works with the Sr. Manager of Training & Development to ensure strategic alignment with talent goals and objectives.

Must currently possess or obtain certifications that strengthen the employee’s ability to deliver impactful training solutions aligned to GROWMARK development objectives. For example, certifications could include (but are not limited to) Crucial Learning, Hogan Assessments, GROW Coaching, Situational Leadership, etc. 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a Bachelors degree in human resources, education, business, or business related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of related experience.

Requires proven experience in curriculum development, planning and execution, facilitation, and evaluation of training; as well as basic needs analysis with cultural awareness.   

Experience advising business partners on development solutions to drive business outcomes. 

Experience leveraging data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.

Experience collaborating across functional areas to deliver System-wide training programs. 

Meaningful progress toward an appropriate ASTD, SHRM, Professional Certified Coach or other nationally recognized coursework to demonstrate advanced training or human resource knowledge. 

Proven understanding of, and experience with, program development along with ability to utilize techniques to assess program effectiveness.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have a valid driver’s license and passport with the ability to work extended hours and travel independently overnight (sometimes frequently).

Frequently required to work extended hours.

Frequently required to lift and move 21-50 lbs.

Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK members and retail divisions. 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
